  • Hi! I’m Sarah…

I'll do just about anything to get "the shot"- except jail time or a trip to the emergency room (and have pictures to prove it!)

I have a degree in studio art and try to incorporate that creativity into every photo shoot.

Fabulous shoes are my soul-thing! I need a bigger closet to organize my collection of heels.

I would be unable to make it through my mornings without at least one cup of coffee.

My passion is to create unique portraits that capture the personalities of my clients.

I'm inspired by fashion magazines (W and Vanity Fair especially) Art (my faves are Matisse, Degas and Leibovitz) and my clients (naturally!)

I believe you're not like anyone else. Why should your senior pictures be any different?

Kayla | Glenwood 2012

When Kayla’s (photographer) dad asked me to take her senior pictures, I was incredibly flattered (as he could easily take them himself) and admittedly intimidated (What if they weren’t happy with the shots? What if I disappointed the H family? What if the photos weren’t technically correct?) Kalya has such a laid-back and sweet personality, I was immediately able to put my concerns aside and have a blast during her shoot. I adore the dress and boots she brought along and her gorgeous blue eyes made my job so super easy! Kayla and fam, hank you so much for this experience- you all are so wonderful and an absolute delight to work with. I can’t tell you how much it means to me that you all are so happy with the images. Much love!

April Photo A Day | Week Two

SO, I’m being honest, I’m finding it difficult to stay creative and find time to get shots for my Photo A Day Challenge… Keep me motivated by leaving encouraging comments here or on Instagram (@sarah_chatham). I’d love to follow you back!

8. Inside Your Wallet: I didn’t do this one… the subject bored me. It’s the only time I’ll skip, promise!
9. Younger You: Me in High School, with much longer hair!
10. Cold: Cold= Me. Even when it’s 80 degrees out!
11. Where You Ate Breakfast: Boyfriend cooks a fab breakfast!
12. Stairs: This one bored me, but I tried…
13. Something You Found Today: I found that I need to take time to relax and not be a workaholic
14. How You Feel Today: Exhausted after a 4 hour photoshoot!

Ugh, I just realized almost all of these are pics of me! Sorry to bombard you all with my face!

Nick | Glenwood 2012

It was so much fun for me to photograph Nick for his senior pics! Most guys don’t put up with me shoving a camera in their face for too long- Nick was a trooper and even had a few creative ideas of his own he wanted to try. Have I mentioned before that I LOVE when I can brainstorm and collaborate creatively with my clients?!

Photo A Day Challenge

I can’t tell you how much I love Instagram. Because I’m shooting for much for other people (which I also LOVE) I rarely have time to take images for myself to keep me inspired and creative. Plus, my camera is HEAVY and I don’t like to lug it along with me everywhere! Having a decent camera on my iPhone and the Instagram app allows me to easily do what my SLR camera does not- take a quick shot of whatever I’m diggin’ at that particular moment, edit and share with my friends in less than a minute.

I’m challenging myself in April to take one *creative* shot a day using the list below. You can follow me on IG at sarah_chatham or check in weekly to the blog for an Instaupdate to see what I’ve come up with. Are you up for the challenge? Post your IG username in the comments section so I can follow you!
