AS a graduation gift to my sister, Mama Chats took her 2 favorite daughters to Hawaii for a tropical getaway! I have only been back a week and already, friends are hounding me for photos (scoff, like I would take pictures while on vacation *wink*) So here is a quick preview of our wonderful trip (more photos, aka the embarrassing ones, will be up on Facebook in the next few days!)
Surfing: I crossed it off my Bucket List on this trip! We had a 2 minute “lesson” on the beach and then it was into the water (thus my petrified face- “wait, what… !? You want us to get into the water….?!”)

But I got up on the board the very first time! And the next day, muscles I never knew I had were whimpering!

We rented some super fun cars on the islands- I had a blast driving Stella the ‘Stang!

We had a few near death experiences on our “Road to Hana” drive- the road is so winding and narrow you become very friendly with the drivers coming from the opposite direction:

Almost got hit by a large truck (my expression after):

Almost hit several cows hangin’ in the middle of the road:

We also saw some beautiful waterfalls:

On the Big Island we went to the volcano in Hilo.
I am wearing a most appropriate shirt- we hiked 4 miles down into the crater. In addition the the gorgeous view, we also burned off some extra calories from all of the amazing food we’d been noshing on!

While snorkeling in Kona we saw real live sea turtles!:

Lots of beach time:

My favorite part of the trip- a doors off helicopter ride over the island of Kauai. The experience was so amazing, I don’t have words…

In Honolulu we toured the USS Arizona at the Pear Harbor Museum and the and USS Missouri.

A few shots of me, doing what I do best
